Most travel nutrition problems come from being reactive instead of proactive. Here are some common things I've observed during my 10+ years of practice as a Registered Dietitian:

  • Over-reliance on convenience or fast foods (fine, but how does that make your body feel?)
  • GI issues from unfamiliar foods or from travel itself
  • Lower fruit/veg intake
  • Not having a clear nutrition plan when traveling for a race
  • Forgetting to pack appropriate sports nutrition/gear when training during a trip
